Digital Photography Syllabus

Course Overview:
This course in Digital Photography is designed to develop your skills in pixel based photographic design and printing. The dream of film-less photography his finally become a reality. Printers, inks and paper have evolved that are able to not only match traditional continuous tone photographic quality, but can also extend traditional possibilities. Many darkroom activities are made easier and more powerful in the digital realm. We will use Adobe Photoshop as the primary image editing tool. We will use the digital photography class to have a better understanding of photography concepts.

Course Goals: ·
To begin to become proficient at using Adobe Photoshop CS4
To extend the possibilities for photographic film to the digital realm and to realize a mature “digital darkroom”.
To develop and practice skills using digital photography tools.
Learn to shoot with digital SLR cameras... and learn to maximize the quality of the output from them.

Classroom Structure:
This course fallows all student handbook policies and procedures.
Cell phones will be taken if they go off or are used during the school day.
No hats are allowed.
If you are tardy, you will loose 5 participation points for each occurrence.
Headphones are only allowed for assignment related uses.
FOOD AND DRINKS ARE NOT WELCOME. Water can only be in your bag. You will loose 5 participation points for each occurrence.
Photography Contract must be fallowed at all times.
20%deduction of the assignments value each day an assignment is late.
